Gnosis Assistant

Ask your data what's going on

Gnosis Assistant is an AI analyst built into your dashboard. Ask it about your flags, trends, and outcomes in plain language — and get a clear answer in seconds, scoped to exactly what you're allowed to see. Privacy-first by design: names are de-identified before anything reaches the model, and student check-in notes are never sent at all.

An analyst on every dashboard

The insight you'd get from an hour with the data — without the hour, and without leaving the page you're on.

Ask in plain language

“Which of my students are slipping?” “What changed this week?” The Assistant reads the same dashboard you're looking at and answers in seconds — no query builder, no exports.

Scoped to your role

A teacher's Assistant sees only their roster; a school admin's, only their building; a district admin's, only their district. It can never reach beyond what you're already authorized to see.

Grounded, not guessing

It only works from the data on your page — flags, scores, trends, and check-in patterns. It won't invent students or numbers, and it points you back to the dashboard for the detail.

Built so the AI never sees who it's talking about

Using an AI assistant shouldn't mean handing a student roster to a model. So we designed the Assistant to answer usefully while keeping identities — and the most sensitive text — out of the model entirely.

For the full detail on how we handle education records, see our Privacy Policy and FERPA commitments.

  • Names are de-identified

Before anything is sent to the AI, every student and teacher name is replaced with a neutral label (“Student 12”). Real names are restored only in your browser, in the reply — the model never sees them.

  • Check-in notes are never sent

The free-text a student writes in a check-in is the most sensitive thing we hold. Its words are never sent to the AI — only a coarse sentiment label, computed locally by our own software.

  • Processed in U.S. AWS, not used to train AI

The Assistant runs on an enterprise AI model through Amazon Bedrock, processed within U.S. AWS regions. Your data is not retained by the model, not used to train it, and not shared with the model provider.

  • Auditable, and off by default

We keep a de-identified record of Assistant activity for accountability, and the feature is enabled per district — it's never on without your district's say-so.

What is Gnosis Assistant?

It's an AI analyst built into the Gnosis IQ dashboard. You ask plain-language questions about your flags, trends, and outcomes, and it answers using the same data your current page is already showing you — scoped to your role.

Does the Assistant send student data to a third-party AI?

It sends a de-identified summary of your dashboard. Student and teacher names are replaced with neutral labels before anything leaves Gnosis, and the free-text of student check-in notes is never sent — only a sentiment label computed locally. The summary is processed by an enterprise AI model on Amazon Bedrock within U.S. AWS regions, where your data is not retained, not used to train the model, and not shared with the model provider.

How is this different from your rostering and prediction features?

Auto-Rostering and our outcome predictions are 100% local algorithms — no AI model, no third party ever sees that data. The Assistant is the one place we use a large language model, and we de-identify the data first. Both approaches keep individual student records out of any third-party AI.

Who can use it, and can it see other classrooms or schools?

No. The Assistant is strictly scoped to your role: teachers see only their own students, school admins only their building, district admins only their district. It has no ability to reach another tenant or beyond what you're already permitted to view.

Is the Assistant turned on automatically?

No. It's enabled per district as part of your plan. Until your district turns it on, no dashboard data is ever sent to the AI.
